I have a very good JD store 3 miles form my door and another 11 miles away. Then I have a another 15 miles and 30 miles away.
The two closest ones are great to work with.
The furthest one is not real good as it is a chain owned by some Doctor out of OK. They could careless about your business, large or small. Most of the employees are just putting in time. I know a fellow that had his combine in there last week. They mechanics had it all done but installing the side panel back on the machine. That takes maybe 15 minutes. They left right at NOON on Sat. made him wait until Monday morning to "finish" the combine. He missed a weekend of high moisture corn harvest. He is fit to be tied about it.
The trouble is the larger the chain the less the employees feel involved with the business. So it becomes just a "JOB" so personal service goes way down the list.
Here is fact of life though on the old tractors many of us have. Too many guys will have the parts guy look up a bunch of parts and then raise heck about them being too high an buy next to nothing. A few times of that and you have a parts guy "trained" to not get too excited about looking up stuff for a old piece of equipment. I have had it happen to me too many times to count.
Where most of the serious farmers with newer equipment usually order their parts and then BUY them without complaint. That also taints the feelings of many parts guys.
I am just saying it is a two way street.
I get good service from most of the dealers of all brands around me. This includes the local CIH store that I rarely do much business with as I only own one IH tractor.
I think that the livestock in this area makes it better as there are still more farmers around. You go to areas that are just grain and there are maybe 50% of the farmers that were there 20 years ago. So that puts some dealers out in the cold.

I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
