: : anyone have any tips or experience building home made backhoes or loaders from any of the companies that offer such plans?? Im a bit bored and was thinking of a project I could tinker around with. : : thanks : Check out this link http://www.gate.net/%7Elsikes/cad.html I have just finished fitting a 4-in-one bucket to the front of a massey 35 with a live hydraulic system. I mounted a 8gpm gear pump on to the front pulley of the tractor(belt driven) found an old loader frame and adapted that. mounted a tank behund the seat. got a second hand clam bucket from a bobcat and adapted that to a frame on the front of the loader frame. I have 2 D4 cylinders for the lift and a pair of cylinders for the tilt and the bobcat cylinders on the clam. all piped together with steel tube and hoses. Whole project cost about $3000.00 (aust). Took a lot of work or re-work but works great (a bit slow but a bit of fiddling with pulley sizes should fix that. Works at about 1850psi. good luck with yours. its worth the time.
cheers peter
