There are aftermarket starters and then there are aftermarket starters.
I used to sell reman starters and alternators, among other things, for a private label auto parts company. The job paid the bills for a couple of years till I got a better offer.
There are companies that do it right and the product is equal to original, and there are companies that fix what's wrong with a unit and call it remanufactured.
I'd check out the company pretty well before I bought.
