Well I haven't made that mistake yet but I did forget to put the drain plug in the back of the boat when I launched-oh about 30 years ago. Haven't forgot that! Figured it out when the boat seem a little bit lower then normal. After putting the plug in. What to do? It was too heavy and would take too much time to go get the trailer so quickly turned on the bilge pump and untied it and got under way. Then pulled the plug again and put on power. When she came up on a plane the water drained very quickly and put the plug back in. That was a really strong boat, 20 feet long with a 283 cu. in. small block, made about 250 hp. I NEVER forgot the plug again.
