Funny! Made me think of the day I guess I was 12 or so and my mom was going to grill burgers for dinner. We did that on a table in the screen porch. I don't remember how everything went to pass or if me or Mom started it but I rember someone driving in our drive and I was out back. They frantically told me there was a fire on the end of the house. I calmly told them it was just the grill as we'd just started it. They asked if I was sure and I said yes. They left and I went in to tell Mom about the person and that's when we notice the grill had set something in there on fire--perhaps it was the table top the hibachi was sitting on. We felt quite foolish. I remember a few frantic seconds but don't recall any damage. They had seen flames or heavy smoke from the road.
I delivered mail for awhile too out of an old Buick. I used to leave a spare key in the trunk lock so I didn't have to take the ignition key out to get a package out the trunk (USPS wouldn't have liked me leaving the car running but time expectations dictated I brake a few rules). Going down the road people often shouted over to me about the key in the trunk.
