I've got one I built using a 65HP Wisconsin, a 30 GPM pump pushing 3000 psi, and a 6 inch cylinder. The only thing it hasn't gone through is a piece of gnarly oak that was nearly 2 feet in diameter. In that case it actually bent the wedge. That said, for the 'normal' stuff I've got a 6 way wedge that I use. I can usually split around a months worth of wood in the matter of an hour or two, right by myself..
That all said, this thing makes mine look like a hand maul..........I agree, it might not go through any really gnarly stuff, but for the usual stuff it looks just plain awesome.
