Sorry for repeating myself to most; I went through this a couple years ago bought a Ford 600 and when a tire started a slow leak, tire coop said nope can't work on them..... Had to sort through a lot of info to get the real scoop..... Tire coop was very haul but they couldn't find any rims off the cuff, closest he could see were Florida (I'm in MN) at the time.
Most wheel patterns have a modern rim available new, but needs a radial tire to fit it. $$$$$ If your bias tires are good on a low-mile truck, you need to scrounge around for a different rim with the split ring, not that one split rim style. They are out there for most. People selling military tires on rims are a good source, they sell the rubber tire and recycle the metal rim because no one knows...... Found someone by Mitchell SD selling one rim and tire that worked for me, ran out there one day to get a useable spare so I wasn't totally lost. Then next spring found someone parting out military stuff in south east central Iowa that had piles of them, got all 6 from him. Had the coop remount my front steer tires on the split rings, and am just using the military tires on the duals in back.
Believe I paid about $50 a piece, in both cases for the tire the rim was considered free, had to ask questions first to find out what the rim was because no one cares....
My farm grain truck needs to be low cost, but it needs to be dependable when I'm using it. Tough to keep those those things combined. Wife went with me on both day trips, she kinda enjoyed it, made some nice short travels for me.
Hardest part was figuring out what rim I needed exactly, and then communicating with the fellas selling tires to be sure I was getting the rim I needed.
