Unless you remove the jets you will never get it truly clean. You may fuss with it until it runs but that does not mean it is clean. Lacquer thinner will not even come close to dissolving the evaporated gas residue. It takes stuff that will remove skin from your hands and it does not come in a spray can. NAPA's carburetor cleaner in a gallon can with a basket would be one good one. Unless you want to learn how to really clean and rebuild a carburetor it will most likely be cheaper to take it to a carburetor shop than to buy the necessary supplies.
