Not sure I'd worry if the tractor actually gets started once a week and run a few minutes, at least.
All lead-acid batteries lose their charge from sitting over time. Makes no matter if hooked to a tractor or sitting on a shelf. Called the "self discharge rate." FLA (conventional flooded lead acid) batteries do it worse then AGMs but they all do it. Worse in warm weather and less in cold weather. A battery maintainer is a way to offset that worry of a battery sitting in a low state of charge.
I had a mess of the 2 amp maintainers from Harbor freight that cost around $18 each. I started with a dozen maybe 5 years ago and half have burned out.
I've also had the Duracell 2 amp maintainers with NO failures.
Also have the Schumacher 2 amp (or 1.5, I forget) maintainers that Walmart sells they too have been great. I've a dozen of them, been using for 3-4 years, and no failures. The Schumacher "Speedy Charge" 1.5 amp maintainers at Walmart are around $19 each and work with 6 volt or 12 volt. Good buy. Model SEM-1562A.
