Here in Eastern NC we have Hog Lagoons and I assure you that they're not at all like the Blue Lagoon! The are just a pond that the washoff from the hoghouse floor flows into and settles. The sludge is hauled off and the water used for irrigation/fertilization. Several years ago a guy had a heart attack and ran off the road into a "lagoon"here in NC A diver had to go in and attach a cable to the car so that his body could be recovered. Some folks really do earn their $$$.
