Diesel Engine Coolant

I recently added a 1985 F250 diesel to my diesel equipment (a 1963 Ford 4-cyl. 2000 Diesel tractor and a little Kubota 12.5 HP B6000 diesel). Shortly after buying the F250 I got an education regarding the cavitation phenomenon and the need for special low silicate heavy duty coolant and additives (Fleetguard DCA-4) in the Ford truck diesel engine (built by Navistar). If you’re not familiar with this a good summary is at "www.abol.com/users/jlester/" (try link, but I don't guarantee it will work). Anyway, my questions are: Should I be using the low silicate coolant and additive in my other diesels? What coolant are most of you using in older diesels like my Ford tractor or a WD45? Should Prestone and the like be used or the low silicate heavy duty stuff? I submitted a question to Prestone’s web page and they responded that high silicate Prestone automotive antifreeze should not be used in heavy duty diesels. Where does that leave my tractors? Are they really heavy duty diesels requiring special coolant?
