A friend of mine was crossing a bridge with a 6 row planter behind a 1066 some 30 years ago when a drunk driving a 10 wheeler came down the hill behind him at about 50 mph. The planter got jammed into the rear of the tractor hard enough to break the drawbar clevises off of the tractor and the planter hit the tractor hard enough to flatten both tires and just about rip the cab and ROPS off the axles, and crack the main case at the clutch area. If the cab and ROPS hadn't been there, he'd have been toast.
Another neighbor was crossing Conowingo Dam on the Susquehanna River about three years ago at 4 AM when a sleepy trucker hit him in the butt and glanced off of a Kinze 8 row planter. He wasn't hurt, but the planter was totalled, as the 18 wheeler, which had a load of fence posts. The cleanup took most of the day and the dam was closed for the best part of the day. It did give the DOT boys something to do for a while....
