: Short of tearing it down...Can anyone share any : old or new methods for freeing a MM "U" engine? : All suggestions appreciated. : No, I'm not going to buy "Red", or "Green" or : "Blue" or whatever color is your "only real : tractor" ... just in case your were thinking : so ... : I am serious ... it supposedly has only been stuck : for a year ... so I'm told. Should be a way : without opening it up. : Thanks, Dave M Every time I mention this guys with white coats show up but I am using it on a stuck IHC 400 LP right now. Use the oil, tranny fluid or what ever in the spark plug holes as mentioned. My 400 is sitting nose to nose with my old GMC with one (extended) heater hose connected to the block water jacket drain hole and the other connected to the temperature sender port on the head which is on the other side of the engine. Start with both engines cold and full of water, run the truck to bring both engines up to operating temperature (I had to crank up the idle speed screw a bit to get good water flow, you can tell by feeling the hoses). You may have to heat it up and let it cool down several times over several days but the difference in expansion and contraction rates between the pistons and the cylinders will cause tiny movements between them. As with anything like this it isn't 100% and if you have heavy rust instead of just stuck only a tear down will work. Good luck.
