Three weeks ago my mother in law came down with a case of shingles. Four days later she rolls out of her bed at 3 am hit her head. Her left eye swelled shut and now the whole side of her face is black and blue. Friday after thanksgiving at 4am she called and said she developed nose bleeds, so bad we took her to the Emergency room. They saw her black and blue cheek and eye and decided to take a CT scan which was negative (good). Well after 4 hrs and one shift change at the hospital they decided to put packing in her left nostril. It was about 6 inches long with a hose. Once in place they used a syringe to pump air into to apply pressure inside her nostril. Next day it was removed. Been good since.. This morning she called at 7am, her power was out. The transformer on the pole in her yard burned up, quit working. 3 hrs later she was up and running again. Last couple of days she's been fighting diarrhea now. She's 87 so we keep checking up on her. She's still on the farm by herself.
