It's got to vary a lot depending time of year, where you are, and if the wood is seasoned or green. During heating season - truly dry and seasoned wood is in demand and very hard to find. Green wood easy to find and often available for $35 a face-cord (4'X 8' X 16").
I put all my firewood that's stacked up in central NY for sale on Craigslist. It was about 30 full cords (cord is 4'X 4' X 8'). Stacked, covered, and seasoned for two years and all white ash, black cherry, hard maple, and red oak. I sold it for $120 per cord which comes to around $40 a so-called "face cord."
Here in northern Michigan - I bought a truck-load of hardwood logs for $550. Cut it up, split and stacked it and it came to around 30 face cords. If I was selling it, it would not amount to much profit.
