Yeah, now I get it. As far as I can tell, there wouldnt' be an easy way to modify the front bolster from an 8700 to 8000 steering motor. Like the other poster said, your best bet is to find an 8000-9000 front bolster and adapt the sheet metal mounting. I don't have an 8000 here to compare with my 9700, but, I'd imagine it would be better to slice up a parts tractor bolster to adapt, rather than trying to adapt the 8700 front bolster.
