You are from NY, right? I lived there 4 years. The best thing I can say about no-till to you is -"no rock picking after the first year."
Here in Wi we have been no-tilling since 1986, and have not done any tillage on our 1000 acres since 2004.
We don't have a fortune in planters either. We started with a 7000 corn planter with 4 plow coulters mounted ahead of the planter units. Total cost was around $125. We used that from 86 till 99. We now have a 7200 JD planter we plant corn with, and a 750 drill to plant beans, wheat and alfalfa with.
What do you use to seed beans with now? John Deere has an alternative unit placement for their drill that keep the gauge wheels more or less of the stalks. This is shown in the back of the 750 drill manual. It does work, I use that placement, plus plug every other hole, to essentially plant 15 in rows. It works well.
We also plant corn into heavy corn stalks with the planter. Our planter has frame mounted coulters, plus trash whippers. It helps when planting corn to plant between the old rows... instead of using the marker, use last years stubble as your guide.
Beans are relatively easy to no-till. They emmerge through a lot of residue, and if the stand isn't perfect as you perfect your technique, beans will compensate for that.
Good luck. It will work. You may never plow again!

This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
