Funny....If US oil companies make money, people whine. If foreign oil companies make money, people complain. If farmers and ethanol companies make money, yep....people complain. I suspect many people would whine and cry if they GAVE us the gas. Bottom line, if you can make your own oil/gas cheaper and/or better, have at it. Until then keep whining while you fill your tank CHEAPER than just about any place on this earth.
HMMMM, Russia, Iran, Mexico, Venezuela and Saudi Arabia to name just a few all have cheaper gas than us. The prices of gas if you care to look are directly related to nanny state governments. The more socialist the system is the higher the price.
As far as cash subsidies are concerned they are gone but mandated ethanol blends in gas are a form of subsidy. The plants know they are going to sell X number of gallons a year.
