It's all the same just different color and maybe different additives for on road. Iv run furnace oil home heating oil in my diesel tractors for close to 20 years never had a problem. I add a little two cycle now because of the low sulfur and use power service in the winter for anti-gel. My 4610 Ford has over 4000 hours on it never a fuel related problem. I have never touched the injector pump on it since we got the tractor in 1990. As mentioned it just dyed for tax reasons.
