Not sure on the 372, but most 354 were 22 or 28 BTDC on flywheel when letter F is at square edge of snap ring inside. Pump has a master wide spline to only go back one way anyhow. Just check the flange ear scribe line at the mount base and put it back the same way. Some later pumps did not have the snap ring aligned with the "F" anyway. With the pump off the drive and plate notches must align at TDC on # 1 compression. If that is set right the flange scribe line is all you need.
