Cheap alternative to loader

I just got my first tractor this year to use around my property. One of the things I wanted to do was move dirt, gravel, and sand around. I was all gung ho to get a front end loader for my Oliver Super 55 and posted some questions here on tractor talk. Since my tractor doesn't have power steering, a lot of comments concerned the wear and tear on the steering box as well as my arms. One fellow mentioned a 3 point scoop bucket. Whoever that was, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Not only was it a fraction of the cost of a front end loader, but I didn't have to deal with adding hydraulics and plumbing a loader to fit my tractor. Now, it is not as versitile as a loader. It can't lift high, and the only down pressure is the weight of the bucket, but it does dig well, hauls material, and I've even gotten pretty good at dumping a load and smoothing it down with the bucket. I bought the bucket new for $400 Candadian (about $270 US), because no one seems to sell the ones they own on the used market. So, if you are in the same boat as me you might want to consider one for yourself.
