: I have a Case 420B with the hydraulicly activated clutch pack and torque converter. I think this is what was known as the Case-O-Matic. It has a loop plumbed into the radiator's lower tank to cool the fluid and the manuals refer to lots of sources of problems. It just looks to me it could be a lot of problems. I've had the tractor running after rebuilding the engine and the clutch seems to be functional except it lurches when being engaged. I can't seem to "feather" the clutch to get a smooth engagement. Is that type of engagement normal? How has the reliability been on this type of system? : Also, there is another lever on the dash that goes to the same "clutch" valve. The service manual indicated this other valve to be a pressure regulator. What does it do & how is it operated?
Any comments are appreciated. Ken McWilliams Dayton, Ohio.
