My unpopular opinion is that if you need those electronic crutches, and cannot think it out on paper, then what exactly is it that college is going to teach? How to use a single piece of equipment that could be outdated tomorrow?!
I use all the functions on a scientific calculator, but I also can (rarely, but able) perform the functions with paper and pencil, with lots of erasers!
