I've got a daughter who is a junior in a four-year college, a son who is a freshman in a four-year college and another son who is a junior in high school. Both my daughter and son are doing a math-intensive college major. (Daughter claims that her Calculus 3 class was her easiest class last semester)
Anyway, last night we saw an advertisement on TV for a small junior college. I asked her if she had any classmates that had worked their way up through a junior college. She said there were none and the few that had tried it had to take an extra year of college to get their four-year degree. So unless the major is in education or similar, you won't save any money by going to a junior college.
