It's an acquired taste. When I was a youngster I drank it with cream and sugar. The wife of a seed corn dealer offered me a cup one morning and I asked for it that way and she made a face and asked me why I wanted to turn it in to castor oil? Then another milk hauler had to take my truck to run his route one day after I got in and unloaded because his was in the shop. I went with him and he had a Thermos full of black coffee. I thought I'd gag on that bitter stuff,but it grew on me.
