WEll let me try: Could it be furniture polish takes of sticky stuff and cleans. We use it to take off tape, masking take, stickers and much more. It puts an oil surfurce on to adhesives and it losens them up makeing it easyer to remove them from the students desk tops at school. They other trick is to use WD 40 that to works good.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
