Could put simple brackets under the shelf and use a crown molding to hide them. This has 2 advantages: its simple and would help bring eyes up to look at the shelf /glasses. Could also try to hang the shelf from above using metal/wood rods with "feet" on each end that screw to top of shelf/underside ceiling.
