my recommendation is
Change to a hd 15w-40 motor oil.. It will have additives to clean the rings, and lower blowby. If the tractor improves after a bit, keep changing the oil every 300 hours.
Best place to get it.. wally world or any parts store or truck stop.
chevron delo, mobile delvac, Shell rotella, mystic, and others are examples of hd diesel oils.
Other wise from the old days when I was young and dumb.. pour one QUART of stp oil treatment in with 3 quarts of hd oil. STP was originally made by the studebaker packard company to help reduce blowby.. its a temporary patch at best,, But I limped along for years using it.. I would pulling to a filling station and fill the oil and check the gas. But that was the high school days when I changed engines almost yearly. Always bigger and faster, always racing the crap out of old iron.
