Thanks in Advance. I was also wondering if there happen to be an "MC's " close to Idaho or Utah thay anyone knows of. I'm hoping to slowly build a complete collection of "m" series tractors.... Mud, I can maybe shed a little light on some of your questions concerning your MT. I am just finishing an "M" which is basically the same tractor as yours with 24 inch rear tires and a wide front end. I also have an "MC" sitting out back which is "another day" project. The "MI" that you mentioned is a M Industrial and is real similar to the M. These were painted orange and used as mowers by many State Road Departments. I have seen some that had horizontal mufflers and some with non-adjustable front ends. As you mentioned there was the "MC" which was John Deere's first crawler. Prior to the "MC" John Deere BO tractors were shipped to the Lindeman Company ( Yakimaw, Washington) where they were converted into crawlers, primarily for orchard farmers out west. Many "MCs" were also used by Highway Departments. I don't know all of the answers concerning the green paints but can tell you that there are (or were) at least two different shades. The "Classic" green is more "lime" colored and is correct for the Models M, MT, MC, etc. I ordered a new throtlle lever for my M from John Deere and it was "Classic" green compared to the newer John Deere Green. I understand that John Deere changed colors after the "20" series (320, 420, 520 etc) when they first introduced the "new Generation"" series (1010, 2010, 3010, etc.) On my "M" (which was an original owners) the "M" decal was located on each side of the grille in the bottom corner. There was an oil cleaner decal which went on the oil cleaner cup. There was a "clean with kerosene" decal which went on the oil cap, a large decal describing tire care went on the inside of the battery cover door, large John Deere decals went on either side of the hood in the indent, a smaller John Deere decal went on the top front of the grille, a larger John Deere decal went on the back of the seat, "Touchlift" decal goes on the outer side of the control valve quadrant, "Safety First" decal was on the right fender, and "PTO Warning decal went on the left fender.
