Company I worked for had a strange system when anything came into the plant. Any markings or printing of any kind was inked over completely and was given a company number. The only way you could know what you were handling was to look at the MSDS book, Witch as everyone knows takes time to look up and find. Anyway safety director for the plant came back to my Department to look around, He had a cup of coffee and his clip board to make notes. He asked me to take him into the powder room, I said fine but the coffee has to stay out hear. That's OK we wont be long and started to go through the powder room door that had a sign on it NO FOOD OR DRINK past this point and walked in. He walked in and up to 12 barrels of Aluim Magnesiume power 50/50 mix (Fine as flower) and sets the coffee on top of the barrel. I ask him if he was nuts? I picked up his coffee and took it outside and came back. He was pissed at me. Why did you do that for? Now I had just cleaned the floors and knew they were powder clean, I pinched some powder off the top of the barrel in my fingers and set it on the floor (away from the barrels) and told him to spit on it, Why it wont do anything. Then do it! He did and BOOM! The look in his eyes was priceless! I said "Gee what would have happened if you would have spilled your coffee"!! We will have to do something about this! I said you already did, You had sprinklers put in powder room right above theses drums, I pointed up. He really did not know what to say or do but walk out. And these are the guys making it safe for us to work. WOW! Bandit
