It was -10F on my thermometer before the sunrise. The air is still, the steam vapors from chimneys can be seen as straight plumes, and there is a haze over the nearby city along the hudson river. I am thankful that my stove is lit, the even heat is coming off it, I've got plenty of dry split hardwood, enough to get me through this winter and 1/2 of the next at this point. I remember the correctional facility job site in Malone NY being beyond -20, closer to -30, somewhere in between, its a game changer for sure. Had to change my F150 oil into something more suited for the cold, the battery in it was also upgraded, and boy was that 5 spd stiff when it first fired up, needed a warm up. Last week that cold air mass moved in, but the wind made it so much worse, it feels much warmer today, being the air is still.
