We were running somewhere between -20 and -17 here south of Black Lake, about 10 miles south of the Canadian border. But the air was dead still and that makes all the difference to me these days. I've seen -52F when I was living in Long Lake NY. That year we had more than 30 days in a row where the
high never got above 0F. I have to say the wind up here hurts me a lot more than the cold. I can take the cold, but the wind just cuts me to the bone. I look like a model from a 1940's Woolrich advertisement when I go out in that weather!

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery.
