I think that pretty well nailed it. I followed the original thread as well. Most of the posts were just friendly advice on how he might have handled the situation a little differently. But the young man apparently did not want to hear any of that because, of course, nothing was HIS fault! He obviously still has a little growing up to do.
I also missed his later thread about leaving. Hopefully he's still lurking here and will realize that people were actually trying to help him. He'll realize that thirty years from now, but it would be nice if it happened a little sooner.
