: I have a Allis Chalmers CA (serial number 39221). : I did not see this serial number on this list of : this web page. : I have been working on the brakes. On side the adjusting : bolt is frozen and have been putting penetrating oil. Hopefully, : it will loosen up. On the other side, I have all the items : for the exception of the adjusting bolt. I checked with : several Auto part stores and they do not have anything close to it. : I wanted to check if the part store of this web page had something. : But I did not see anywhere I could send an inquiry to see if they : carry the adjusting bolt. The bands are okay. : Another thing, I wanted to ask anyone out there. I have to half hand : crank before I started it up. This is after is sits for awhile. After, : I half hand crank it. I am able to started with the : starter. Could it be out of timing? Any suggestions. : Thanks : Armando Armando, here's another Allis site. they may have your serial number. NExt find your local Allis dealer. they have all the parts you need. I goto one in Coxackie, ny. They are reelly good. they've been in bussines for 3 generations! The starting problem, if i read it right, is you have to turn the engine past the comression stroke of the engine. sounds like it could be dirty terminals somewhere along the way to the starter. my battery is shot and I have to do that so the inertia will carry the engine over the next time. try cleaning them. It could also be timing. find TDC then listen for when the magneto snaps. if it snaps before tdc then timing is to early. should snap at TDC. or 1-2 degrees after. if you have points get volt meter and measure the voltage across points. when it goues from 0 to 12v its made a spark. Good luck! Rob
