I just read your post about your wife with COPD. About 2 years ago I had to go to the hospital with same symptoms. I quit smoking that day after smoking for 55 years. I now do breathing treatments 3 times a day and use an inhaler along with taking Spireva and Symbacort. I am going thru respiratory therapy and am learning how to breathe all over again. Breathe in thru your nose and out thru pursed lips making your lungs expell the air in them. It's not that we can't get air into our lungs, but the air doesn't leave them as it should when we exhale. Along with that, believe it or not, what she eats will also affect her breathing. From what I've been told by the therapist, carbohydrates aren't good for our problem, so we need to slack off them if we cam. Just wanted to share what I've learned with mine in hopes it may help her a little. Believe me it's no fun at all. Keith
