I will try to not be political, because that is pointless, we all have the path we worship.....
In general, when the economies of the east and west coast are doing good, the economy of the middle of the country, which depends on bulk economies and natural resources, gets real bad.
The govt has fought hard and perhaps recklessly to prop up the east and west coasts, and eventually pour enough money into it and enough govt policies and things will swing that way for a while anyhow.
Here in the Midwest we need a low dollar, high fuel prices, a good national infrastructure, more workers than jobs, and we do well.
That is what we have had the past half dozen years, and the economy has looked great to is.
Urban centers have really stalled out that way, and the govt does anything it can to change this.
And so, while the economy might now be booming for the urban centers, the Midwest and other natural resources, bulk commodity areas of the country will again be thrown under the bus and have a rotten outlook.
