: Well, I did it -- got my 9N stuck for the first time. I was clearing brush and found a mud hole I did not know existed. : I'm sunk in nearly to the axle -- I can't go forward and I can't go backwards. The mud hole just laughs when I chain the 9N to my 4x2 F150 and try to pull it out that way. : Any tricks to try before I go calling neighbors with bigger tractors? ++++++++++++++++++ Things not to do: Don't jerk with the chain/cable from the tow vehicle, makes bad days worse. Don't pile the chain/cable up near the stuck tractor and then take off like a bat out of hell with the tow vehicle, makes bad days much worse. Things to do: Use the biggest tow vehicle you can find, preferably much larger than the stuck tractor, less strain, less work, less pain. Pull smoothly, mud takes time to move out from around the tires, give it time. Rest often, especially if its hot! This can be very hard work, especially if you use the "Jack and Stack" method previously posted. The railroad tie attached to the back wheels works but the trick is to stop when the wheels are on top of the tie, it can end up against the transmission in front of the wheels, put the chains somewhere where they won't slip and cut off the valve stem (bad day becomes worse, again). If you can't find help and have to use the "Jack and Stack" method, I hope you're not on a side hill, allow for the front wheels to run up on the stack. I've had them hang and cause the whole thing to repeat its self, planks are good to have, but the ends catch the front wheels. This is a lesson in patience any way you do it. Save the beer 'til its over! Joe
