A gentleman was invited to be the guest speaker at a formal dinner. He was putting on his tuxedo in the dressing room a few minutes before his time to go on when there was a knock at the door.
The Master of Ceremonies entered and asked "Are you ready?"
Guest Speaker said, "Almost, but I'm having trouble tying this bow tie. Do you know how to tie them?"
MC said "Sure, I tie them all the time." Then he grabbed the speaker by the shoulders and laid him down on the bed, quickly tied the tie, and stood him up again.
"Thanks" said the speaker, "But why did you lay me on the bed to tie it?"
