: : : I am looking for information about a Tuff-bilt tractor built in Cummings Ga by tri Tractor Mfg. Co. Inc. When were they built? How many were built? and what happened to the company. cannot locate them??? Thanks for the help : : Carol, as I understand, the company is gone. I'm told most of their production was export though a few remained here. You probably already know that it was patterned after the G Allis-Chalmers except it had a little diesel engine. Many thought it a better tractor than the G. I think it had an automatic transmission or torque converter or some such. I have a good friend in Cumming who told me about them. That's about all I know, maybe it will help some. Have a good day. John : Thanks for the information, it is more than I knew before. I did know it resembled the G Allis but didn't know anything else about it. Thanks again Carol, my friend also told me the demise of the company was financial and mis-management. Some thought perhaps they should have concentrated more on the domestic market. The folks I talked to agree it was a "tougher" tractor than Allis-Chalmers' G, and the automatic drive, whatever it was, was really nice. For a time, and perhaps still, there were some bits and pieces of tractors left in the Cumming area but the general consensus is they are mostly all gone although there are a few of the tractors still in use in the area I'm told. Have a good day. John
