Real sport is one you play yourself, for the enjoyment, makes great stress relief and can be the best exercise. I did so daily for many many years to good personal benefit. The fancy professional leagues of this and that which is piped in to our televisions, well one can make their own assessment.
I like the game of football, though with all thats involved, between all the high profile sides of it and the media hype, high risk of serious injury to the players and a bunch of other things, there is no priority for me to have to watch any of it, at any given time. If its nice outside in the fall, that's where I'll be, DVR can record it for later if I want to see it for some reason. I have a team that I have followed since a kid in elementary school, being on the west coast, its not often the game is available, so when it is on, I'll decide if I want to see it or not. Playoffs are more interesting, but if something else is pressing I won't indulge in watching. Usually the weather is cold and inclement so for the last couple of weeks of the season I may see some of the games, this year I did. Today there is an annual get together at a friends dads place, venison stew, dogs, I'll bring a few favorite beers to enjoy a little more than what he regularly keeps, catch up with some people I have not seen in months, and enjoy the occasion for the first half, I may not pay a lot of attention to the game, just a good excuse for friends and family to enjoy some great food and company. His place is a regular stop in the summer on mondays right after work, they have horseshoe games, have a few beers, and enjoy some of the previous seasons venison, dogs, sausage, stew and or thin sliced steak sandwiches.
More importantly right now, given the temps and snow predictions, I need to get my old worn out tractor inside the garage and ready to put the darned chains on.

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
