Most likely a 60 rather than 70's machine. Is it a C or D machine ? C has 2 filters , suction filter is under the floor board and pressure is under the seat. suction is 100 mesh marvel screen (washable), pressure is edge wound paper filter ( very delicate but washable). D model has 2 filters suction is in the frame rail on left side of engine(same filter as C but mounted different. pressure is canister under seat, Replaceable element.
If suction filter has aluminum ,look for the forward bushing inside the torque converter to be bad allowing the halves of the converter to rub together.
