I have a hard time believing that the Amish have a full blown criminal enterprise operating in their midst that engages in extortion among other things. Are the Amish perfect? No. Are the Mennonites perfect? No. They are no different than us in that they have good, bad, and otherwise. They might be a little better than us in that the really bad ones get shunned by the community while some of our bad get pats on the back for getting away with something. But still there are ones that are bad enough that nothing ever happens to them. It seems like a couple of the area ones are due for a shunning from what I hear.
