Actually not. From looking at the temperature maps daily this winter, we have been colder than or as cold as other areas that usually seem to be quite a bit colder. One place that comes to mind is International Falls, MN. Seems to me if the temperature drops there, often times its headed this way. Snow accumulation is up to my knees at this point. Stark contrast from where you are Stan, I have been there many times. One has to appreciate that though, you can have both if you head into the mountains, here its months of one type of weather with no escape LOL !
It is however warming, the sun is getting stronger and is melting snow, the last bit we got that I did not clear, turned granular at mid day yesterday and the blower would not send it far at all. By this time, I've acclimated to it, so working outside is not an issue if you are moving around. Yesterday it topped off at 30 deg F, full sun, perfect for being outside, even the house is warm, furnace stays off most of the day here when the sun is out and the wood stove does not take much to warm up the garage/basement area, get below 20 deg F and that changes drastically. It will be about the same today. Looking back at photos, and about 5 days earlier we had exactly the same amount of snow on the ground, which took until March 11 to dissipate, per my photos. This winter is about the same, but I think colder as we have had more sub zero weather. You can see on the map where its warmed up further from the south, gradually.
