Our family has been making syrup in this bush for near on a century. The only reason we hang buckets in Feb, is because we have extra help then. Kids on spring break. Very rare to have a Feb. run, and we have made syrup well into April many years. Last year was poor. Stayed cold through most of March with little moisture in the ground. When April rolled around it warmed up, it stayed that way. Some of us were takeing down buckets and cleaning up for the season and the uncles were planting oats. Loren
