Back in the late 70s after scraping and saving to take my wife and 3 young sons to the beach for a week, I had the occasion to see the coal miners union in action. We were tent camping in about the only spot available which happened to be in the midst of a large group of strikers. Since they couldn't work they all headed to the beach. All were in high dollar campers and motor homes. Talked to some of them long enough to learn they were staying at least a month or longer and were pleased with their opportunity to travel in those very expensive units along with new vehicles and such. Well at the end of my week the family and I returned home to hard work to make up for what our little trip cost. It's bothered me all these years to have listened to the whinning and gripping those union guy's did and at the same time did a lot of bragging about what the made (salary, benefits, wages). GO BACK TO WORK like I did and still do. No pity from me.
