Not to hijack the other thread about FL I was down by you a few years back. The snow that year was so deep the deer were laying in the road next to the guard rail. When they jumped over into the snow all you could see was ears. That was over by the rec area on 50 East of Montrose. I ran from Grand Junction to Saquache. Then down the gun barrel to Alamosa. I loaded an Air seeder and took it up to Lagrange ID. This was the year they closed all the passes out except the La Veta on the east side of the Valley. On 114 There was a herd of elk wintered right along the river there east of Gunnison. The snow pack on 50 was so thick the road was hard to tell from the shoulder. The next trip it was bare except for a bit up on the pass. this was about Jan. or Feb.
