We'll both could work. My neighbor has had duo grip chains on his JD 50 year around for years. Runs on the pavement sort distances between fields year around too. I bought a JD 530 from an elderly gentleman a couple years ago, and it has double ring chains on it that had not been off in over 30 years. Granted, they were pretty much wore out. Very thin. But he used it year round with those chains on the tires. Everything from raking hay to pushing snow in the winter. But, do you think you'll need chains for field work? I've seen some pretty wore tires being used spring, summer, and fall with little trouble. I'd just use the chains in the winter, because they are not cheap to buy or replace when wore out. If I needed chains in the summer, I'd replace the tires rather than use chains. Just my opinion.
