: George, do you need a grounding jumper between the tractor and the 12 volt source? No. The 12v is needed to fire the Xenon flash tube. The trigger is inductively coupled from the #1 spark plug. There's no ground connection necessary between the two. Works well off a 12v battery charger, too.
