What exactly qualifies you to comment on what the "real world" is to men that are old enough to be your grandfather? Your own "real world" experience???
One thing that you must carefully consider is that if you have a weapon in your possession, and you have to use it, there WILL be aftermath. If you kill or injure another person for whatever reason, you WILL be standing tall in front of a judge or judge and jury. You will have to be prepared to defend your use of that weapon. Not always an easy thing to do. You will also have to carry the consequences of that action with you for the rest of your life.
Better to stay away from places that might provoke the usage of a weapon or to avoid the situation entirely. If your town is that rough, maybe you should consider a different town.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
