Dave, you speak of ignorance of real world issues. There are like six white rhinos left in Africa, they will be extinct in a few years from poaching. Ignorance would be to watch that happen, then allow it to happen to a native specious to north America. Don't you think that say 50 years ago people said the exact same thing you did except about rhinos? "killed 12 rhinos in the last 2 years, plenty more left". That is not managing wildlife or figuring out why their numbers increase and implementing a solution to that problem. Root cause analysis. So bang, bang is what I hear from you. I would say that a lot of country folk pollute more than city folk. Country folk burn their garbage, bad idea. Pollutes the air. Throw everything into the ditch, pour out used motor oil on the ground. Uggh. So don't say city folk are idiots. Just because you live in the sticks does not give you dominion to screw it up to your hearts content. I have every bit the same right to enjoy nature, and I can vote for laws to KEEP WET LANDS.
